William R. Bamattre

Bill Bamattre was a member of the Los Angeles Fire Department for more than 30 years, rising through the ranks to Fire Chief in 1995. He is a Stanford University graduate with a master's in public administration from Cal State Los Angeles. He is a long-time advocate of community-based public safety. He was instrumental in incorporation of the City of Dana Point and served as mayor in 1991. Retired from the LAFD in 2007, Bill remains involved in Emergency Management and the Fire Service. He joined the board in 2006.
