The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation Announces
More Than $2.7 Million in New Grants to L.A. Area Nonprofits
The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation announced today that, for December,
2011, it made more than $2.7 million in new grants to Southern
California nonprofit organizations.
Since 1978, the foundation has been one of the most influential private
grantmakers in California. Today, RMPF’s assets total $388.1 million
and, in 2010, the foundation awarded 271 grants worth a total of $21.3
million.
Originally founded in 1961 as the corporate philanthropic arm of the
Ralph M. Parsons Company, RMPF today is completely independent and has
no corporate ties. The foundation makes grants in four general interest
areas: higher education; civic and cultural; health, and social impact.
